The Conspirator (2010)

Seven men and one woman, Mary Suratt ( Wright), are charged with conspiracy to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln.The promos for this movie tell you that it will be like you are actually there.

Right from the start, I felt I was been hammered with a political message and not a historical re-enactment of events. Without going into the obvious politics of the film or whether it is historically accurate or not, I found this a film under-produced and badly written, which surprisingly failed to transport me to the time period of such important events (the History channel does a better job than this).

Well, Robert Redford pulled it off beautifully. I felt that I was truly back in the time of Lincoln's death and the set was SO CONVINCING.
